Annual National Tapathon Event
The Top Hat Tappers take part in the Annual National Tapathon in November each year. We started in 2013 and hope that in 2019 (the events 10th year) we will break the world record for the most amount of tappers all tapping to the same music, doing the same routine and the same time, in different venues. The record currently stands at 7,596 tappers. The Performers Project are the organisers and they choreograph a routine for us all to learn so we could all tap together on the day. The play button is pressed at exactly 1pm and we all set off tapping.
Everyone enjoys this event, the atmosphere is great. Everyone involved, which for us is between 40-70 tappers each year, receives a certificate. We also run a cake sale and raffle to raise money for Children in need and all our family and friends come along to support.
So far the Top Hat Tappers have raised nearly £2000 for children in need and each year annually approximately £35,000 across the country! We love being part of this amazing event, come and join us and you too could maybe be a world record holder soon!!
A special thanks to St Paul's Church, Heaton Moor for letting us have the hall free of charge. Enjoy below our photos and videos over the 6 years we have participated.
